CURRENT RESUME:
Hugh's from Tucson; that is, he was raised here from the age of four.
He had plenty of relatives; and, his father took the family all over the
place, to see this or that, have picnics on weekends, holidays, and days
off work.   So, Hugh fell in love with this area.
Grandma bought him oil paints (at her house) when he was five.   Miss
Simquit, his 5th grade teacher, taught him secrets of drawing and how
to doodle (even in class.)   By high school, he was doing big oil
landscapes.   Years of education --UofA BA, Loyola graduate study-- were
followed by learning to work, marriage and children, limiting free time.
But, he took up pen and ink work. He, and his wife, Julie, meanwhile,
created an insurance claims service business, in Sacramento, CA, which
they operated for many years.   But, Tucson & "art" was always there.
He did pen and inks of locations in the "Gold Country" of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains'famous locations and structures.   And, he then did
a series of pen and inks of historical railroads.   This led to prints, which
lead to a Gallery in artsy, popular Folsom, California.
Now, semi-retired, and back here, he is using mixed mediums on local
landscapes and the occasional portrait drawing.   So, this local artist
began looking for and found another Gallery.   Now, he'd like to display
and sell his local art works; and, make room for continued works.
