I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a child I remember visiting my grandfather's art
studio and admiring his oil paintings. He was a professional artist who inspired me to
take an early interest in art. I attended the Layton Art School in Milwaukee as a child.
As
an adult, I attended art classes at a Denver university and learned advanced oil painting
techniques from the Art Students League of Denver. I did medical illustrations for a company
in Denver that published educational manuals for nurses. I moved to Arizona in 2005 and
became fascinated with the desert environment and the Southwest culture.
I have exhibited
my paintings in art shows and in three Tucson art galleries. My subject matter is what ever
interests me, but I particularly enjoy painting still-lifes, and people. I work primarily
in oils and acrylics. I also have a bachelors and a masters degree in nursing science and
have worked for many years as a family nurse practitioner.
