Meet CHRIS ZABRAMNY...

ABOUT THE ARTIST I was born and grew up in Poland.   Initially fascinated by theater I strived to achieve, at least for the time being, a "perfect" balance in stage design, what later extended to window displays, decorative or commercial art and finally to abstract paintings.   After I was invited to display my work in one of the local cafes in Maryland.   Surprised, I discovered that my collages and abstracts "go well with coffee" and I started to exhibit them more frequently in numerous coffee houses.   Since then quite a few of my mixed media original espresso art series inorporating coffee bean elements decorate walls of specialty coffee establishments around the country.

After completion of the School of Art and Design I pursued my career as a set and costume designer in theatre.   Influenced by theatrical atmosphere, my early works very closely related to theater and experience of it's opening night magic.

In 1981 along with my husband and daughter I immigrated to the Unites States.   Initially knowing no English, for the first seven years I free-lanced for various theater groups contributing (as they said about me), "this European touch of yours...".

Until June of 1997 I was employed as a director for a mental health agency in Maryland but remained an active artist.

I strongly believe that the theme of my art, "time frozen in frame", allows me to confide in others this personal sense of intimacy and fulfillment.

Sharing my works became possible through numerous area exhibitions and by a "word of mouth" sales to private collectors.

In July of 1997 I moved with my family to Tucson, Arizona, where I have been working with various vocational services helping people with barriers to employment.

To date over 200 of my works have been placed in private homes and at commercial sites.   Currently my work is exhibited at the Creative Spirit Artist Cooperative in Patagonia and by Artists at Work Gallery in Tucson, and now in the new GALLERY 2402,LLC.
